Bitcoin Difficulty and Hashrate Reach Record Highs as Halving Draws Closer
Bitcoin’s network difficulty climbed to an unprecedented peak on April 10, 2024, at block height 838,656, increasing by 3.92% to reach 86.39 trillion. This escalation in difficulty will make it increasingly challenging to mine blocks as the fourth halving event nears, with fewer than 1,250 blocks remaining until block 840,000 is mined. Panelists at global fintech company Finder have relayed a series of projections on the Cardano native token ADA. Despite the cryptocurrency’s slow growth recently, various crypto experts have predicted the price of ADA to surge to record highs soon.
Cardano Expected To Rise Above $3 by 2030
A recent survey of panelists at Finders has revealed the future outlook for the price of ADA. According to the report, Cardano is expected to witness a significant surge between the average of $5.37 and $3.15 by the end of the decade.
Supporting the cryptocurrency’s potential price growth, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Layer One X, Matiu Rudolph has predicted that the price of ADA could increase to $3.50 or higher by 2025. He has also predicted that the cryptocurrency could witness a rise to new all-time highs of $10 by 2030.
The COO has based his predictions on Cardano’s burgeoning ecosystem and robust community of supporters. He disclosed that the cryptocurrency’s loyal community was one of its greatest assets, fostering global adoption and boosting the value of the cryptocurrency.
Also speaking about Cardano’s future price outlook, the founder of Omnia Markets, Mitseh Shah has projected the price of ADA to surge to $2.75 by 2025. The fintech founder has given reasons for his price prediction, stating if the crypto market enters a bull run, Cardano could see its price rising to new highs.
“If next year’s Bitcoin halving leads to a bullish crypto market Cardano could well be taken along for the ride,” Nick Ranga, senior cryptocurrency and forex analyst at ForexTraders stated.
In a similar light, another panelist, Ruadhan O, creator of Seasonal Tokens has remained bullish on Cardano, expecting the cryptocurrency to surge to $2 by 2030. The crypto investor has disclosed that Cardano is likely to witness significant gains from Ethereum’s market share during the next crypto bull run.
Overall, predictions regarding Cardano’s price outlook seem to depend on the market’s performance and the possibility of a bull run. At the time of writing the cryptocurrency is trading at $0.65, reflecting an increase of 3.63% over the past week, according to CoinMarketCap.
ADA To Witness Major Price Drop
Despite the optimistic forecast from a considerable number of Finder’s panelists regarding Cardano’s price, others have expressed opposite views, highlighting Cardano’s underperformance and inability to keep up with market expectations.
Josh Fraser, co-founder of Origin Protocol, Cardano and Joseph Raczynski, a futurist have predicted that the price of Cardano could plummet to zero by 2030 and 2025 respectively. Numerous other panelists who share similar pessimistic sentiments have revealed that Cardano’s lack of decentralized applications and failure to achieve global adoption was one of the key factors behind its foreseeable limited price growth.

Bitcoin Held On Coinbase Exchange Reach 9-Year Low, Can Bitcoin Reach $75,000?
In a recent development, data from crypto analytics firm Glassnode shows that the amount of Bitcoin held on Coinbase has reached a 9-year low. This has raised the possibility of the flagship crypto rising to a new all-time high (ATH) of $75,000 soon enough.
BTC Held On Coinbase Drops Significantly
According to Glassnode, the Bitcoin balance on Coinbase dropped to a nine-year low of 344,856 on March 18. This suggests that Bitcoin investors are choosing to move their holdings off exchanges and hold for the long term rather than sell anytime soon. A move like this reduces the short-term pressure on Bitcoin and could spark an upward trend in BTC’s price.
Meanwhile, the drop in BTC held on Coinbase looks to be a trend, with data from market intelligence platform Santiment showing a drop in the total amount of Bitcoin held on centralized exchanges (CEXs). This data is also supported by the fact that these exchanges have recorded more outflows than inflows lately.
Further data from Santiment also shows that the supply on exchanges as of March 22 stood at just over 836,000 BTC compared to the 18.82 million BTC that resides out of these CEXs. The decline in the number of BTC held on exchanges is undoubtedly a welcome development, considering how the flagship crypto token has recently been plagued with a wave of profit-taking.
Before now, the bearish sentiment surrounding BTC was further strengthened by JPMorgan’s theory that Bitcoin was overbought and that the crypto token could experience further price declines soon enough. However, with BTC back over $70,000, there is the belief that this is just the beginning of an upward trend that could see it reach new highs.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs Record Net Inflows
BitMEX Research revealed in an X (formerly Twitter) post that the Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a combined net inflow of $15.7 million on March 25. This represents a positive turn of events after these funds recorded negative flows throughout last week. The wave of profit-taking by these Bitcoin ETF investors contributed to the BTC dip that occurred during that period.
The crypto community will no doubt keep their eyes on the flows recorded by these Spot Bitcoin ETFs this week as they could give an idea of whether or not the outlook towards BTC has become bullish again. These Bitcoin ETFs now play a prominent role in the Bitcoin ecosystem, considering how much BTC these fund issuers accumulate whenever there is a high demand for them.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at around $70,700, up over 5% in the last 24 hours according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Bernstein Analysts Says Bitcoin Will Reach A New ATH By Year End, Here’s The Target
Analysts at financial services firm Bernstein are increasing their price expectations for Bitcoin. This follows a revised report in which they boosted their year-end target for the flagship crypto token’s price.
Bitcoin To Hit $90,000 By The End Of 2024
According to a report by CoinDesk, Bernstein analysts Gautam Chhugani and Mahika Sapra have raised their year-end prediction for Bitcoin’s price from $80,000 to $90,000. Their research report cited the strong Spot Bitcoin ETF inflow and a record mining income as the reasons for this increased bullishness on BTC’s price.
Since launching, the Spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded an impressive amount of inflows into their funds and have significantly contributed to an increase in BTC’s price. As such, it is understandable why these analysts believe they could still positively impact Bitcoin’s price in the long run.
Despite miners’ rewards being cut in half during the Halving event in mid-April, these Bernstein analysts also foresee a record mining income for BTC miners. They believe this would have a positive impact on BTC’s price. Bitcoinist recently reported that Bitcoin Halving could force some miners out of business, paving the way for the remaining miners to enjoy increased revenue.
Meanwhile, Chhugani and Sapra also recently reaffirmed their prediction that Bitcoin will hit $150,000 by mid-2025. They believe that the Spot Bitcoin ETFs will be one of many factors contributing to this massive price surge.
BTC Could Even Hit $150,000 This Year
Standard Chartered is another financial institution that revised its year-end target for Bitcoin’s price. As against their initial prediction of $100,000, they recently stated that Bitcoin could rise to $150,000 by the end of this year. Like Bernstein, Standard Chartered also alluded to the influence of the Bitcoin ETFs as the primary reason for their bullishness on Bitcoin.
The bank noted in the research report that these investment funds provide a more robust and sustainable positioning for Bitcoin, unlike when the crypto token hit new highs solely based on speculations. Standard Chartered also predicts that BTC could rise to $200,000 by the end of 2025.
Interstingly, they added that an “overshoot to $250,000 is likely at some point in 2025 if ETF inflows continue apace and reserve managers buy BTC.” These predictions, however, look conservative when one considers Samson Mow’s prediction that BTC could hit $1 million this year.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at around $66,200, down over 1% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.

FXS Price Poised For Uptrend As Frax Finance Unveils Roadmap To Reach $100B TVL
Frax Finance, a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, recently unveiled its Singularity Roadmap. It aims to propel the total value locked (TVL) of its layer 2 blockchain, Fraxtal, to $100 billion by the end of 2026. This notable surge would represent a 760,000% increase from the current TVL levels, which stand at $13 million.
Frax Finance Singularity Roadmap
According to the protocol’s announcement, Fraxtal, the substrate that powers the Frax ecosystem, serves as Frax Finance’s operating system. With the launch of Fraxtal and achieving an effective 100% Collateralization Ratio (CR), Frax Finance claims to have consolidated its core product offerings.
To reach the ambitious $100 billion TVL goal, the protocol has announced that it has already generated over $45 million, reaching the coveted 100% CR.
As announced, with this milestone achieved, the FRAX stablecoin, which has remained relatively dormant during the process, and the FXS revenue share, which has been temporarily reduced by 90% to conserve assets, can now undergo a “transformative change.”
In addition, the upcoming introduction of Layer 3s (L3s) on Fraxtal is expected to be a key factor in further contributing to the growth and adoption of the protocol.
Fraxtal, which is built on the Optimism (OP) network, stands out as one of the most widely used layer 2 solutions on top of Ethereum (ETH), according to the protocol. The Frax team says it has developed its underlying incentives to provide a seamless experience for developers and users, further encouraging adoption.
In particular, by owning the entire stack, Frax can introduce advanced features such as account abstraction, new precompiles, privacy features, aggregated decentralized applications (dApps), and interoperability with Superchain.
The protocol believes these features will enhance the on-chain experience, making Fraxtal the “preferred” platform for holding, staking, and transferring crypto assets.
Expansion Strategy
The proposal also unveils Frax Finance’s plan to establish 23 Layer 3s within 365 days, kicking off the “Fraxtal Nation” community. By supporting these 23 chains with developer access, incentives, and investment, Frax aims to foster a positive-sum approach and provide additional support to official partners.
The protocol also suggests that these partners will receive “substantial allocations” of FXTL points, aiming to solidify the role of the FXS token as the ultimate beneficiary of the Frax ecosystem.
Moreover, Frax Finance founder Sam Kazemian intends to allocate 50% of the revenue from protocol fees to veFXS token holders. In comparison, the remaining 50% will be used to acquire FXS and other Frax assets for pairing in the FXS Liquidity Engine (FLE).
This initiative will increase liquidity, strengthen the Frax balance sheet, and provide additional incentives for the protocol’s stakeholders.
Frax Finance’s proposal also seeks to reactivate the protocol fee switch, which was temporarily turned off during the consolidation phase of the protocol.
By reigniting this switch, a portion of the yield generated from protocol fees will be directed toward veFXS token holders. veFXS, or veiled FXS, represents a locked version of the native token, FXS, and offers enhanced voting power and participation in the Frax ecosystem.
As of the time of writing, FXS has not responded favorably to the news. Its current trading price is $6.93, reflecting a 3.5% loss in the past 24 hours. It is important to note that the proposed protocol features are still in development, and the impact on the Frax Finance ecosystem and the token’s performance is yet to be determined.

XRP Records Massive 80% Surge In Trading Volume, Can Price Reach A New ATH?
XRP continues to show strength despite largely underperforming during the ongoing bull market. Interestingly, the crypto witnessed a surge in activity last week, with trading volume surging in tandem. Particularly, the trading volume saw an increase of over 80% recently.
However, the boost in activity and trading volume has not necessarily translated into continuous price growth, as XRP is currently on a 13% percent correction from the $0.74 price level on Monday.
XRP Trading Volume Surges, But Will Price Follow?
XRP witnessed a surge earlier in the week which saw it breaking out of a 6-year-long symmetrical triangle, prompting analysts to anticipate a continued price surge.
During this period, the crypto witnessed a surge in trading volume from whales in particular, with large bouts of XRP leaving crypto exchanges.
This bullish sentiment allowed XRP to cross over $0.74 for the first time in eight months, albeit for a short moment. This surge in price was short-lived, as XRP fell as low as $0.6 in the days after.
However, a recent 80% surge in on-chain activity and trading volume has led to the price of XRP increasing by 4.45% in the past 24 hours and 2.2% in a seven-day timeframe.
Volume spikes of this magnitude often occur before a price rally, therefore, this massive spike in volume has the XRP community speculating that a strong price rally could be on the horizon.

Current Price Action: Can XRP Reach A New All-Time High?
At the time of writing, XRP is trading at $0.6398. The crypto’s journey to a new all-time high is definitely not going to be an easy one, as it is now down by 83% from its current all-time high of $3.84.
However, current market dynamics and various predictions from many crypto analysts indicate that the crypto might go on a surge of great magnitude in the near future.
One of these is a prediction from analyst Jaydee, who noted that XRP’s recent breakout from the six-year trendline mentioned earlier could lead to a surge to $3 from the current price level.
The major resistance level to watch is $0.74. XRP tested this level a few days ago but failed to close above it. If bullish momentum continues and volume stays strong, XRP could break through $0.74 decisively in the new week. If it does, the next resistance levels are at $0.82 and $1.5.
One of the few factors that could contribute to a strong price increase is regulatory clarity regarding XRP’s status, which could boost confidence from institutional investors.
Notably, XRP’s non-security status seems to be gaining ground. The European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) recently published a research paper acknowledging this non-security status.

Samson Mow Gives Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Could Reach $1 Million This Year
The CEO of Jan3 and Bitcoiner, Samson Mow, is still standing by his prediction that Bitcoin could hit $1 million sooner rather than later. During a recent interview, he explained why he is sticking to his ambitious price prediction.
Why Bitcoin Would Hit $1 Million This Year
Mow mentioned during an interview with ‘What Bitcoin Did’ Host Peter McCormack that BTC will hit $1 million this year, if not this year, in 2025. He further explained that BTC’s current setup is well structured for this parabolic run. For one, he noted that BTC’s demand far exceeds its supply.
Mow highlighted the Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which accumulate almost 4,000 BTC daily. This amounts to about 1.5 million BTC, which these funds can pull over a year, which could drastically reduce the amount of BTC in circulation. These Bitcoin ETFs are already reported to hold a significant percentage of Bitcoin’s circulating supply.
The Bitcoin maximalist also recognized crypto exchanges that take in large BTC inflows. Therefore, Mow believes the price should “react accordingly” as Bitcoin’s demand continues to exceed the Miners’ supply, which will be cut in half during the Bitcoin Halving. Even if this theory doesn’t play out, he remarked that the concept of the ‘Veblen effect’ will apply to Bitcoin.
What The ‘Veblen Effect’ Is About
The Veblen effect is when consumers purchase an item even as its price increases. In this case, Mow opines that investors will continue to invest in Bitcoin regardless of how high this rises. This sustained interest in the flagship crypto can also lead to further price surges. This Veblen effect is already in full force as Bitcoin continues to attract new investors.
Mow also laid a scenario where BTC attains Gold’s market cap and surpasses it. When that happens, he stated that people will start demonetizing Gold and substituting it for BTC, seeing the crypto token as a better alternative. While he recognized that some investors are already substituting their Gold for Bitcoin, Mow stated that it will happen “en masse” when BTC flips Gold.
Although ambitious, Samson Mow’s ambitious prediction cannot be discarded, considering that he had previously predicted that Bitcoin would hit a new all-time high (ATH) before the Halving event, which it already did. This is the first time the crypto token hit a new ATH before the Halving.
At the time of writing, BTC is trading at around $73,000, up in the last 24 hours according to data from CoinMarketCap.

Bitcoin Will Reach A New All-Time High This Week, Matrixport Head Of Research Says
Bitcoin saw an incredible month in February, adding over $18,000 to its value in a single month. This outperformance has now carried on into the month of March, which has seen the Bitcoin price cross the $65,000 mark for the first time since 2021. As BTC trades in the green, expectations remain that the performance will continue.
Bitcoin Shows Strong Fundamentals
In a new report shared with NewsBTC via email, the head of research at Matrixport, Markus Thielen, put forward that the Bitcoin price was headed for another all-time high this week. This report highlighted the BTC price performance over the last year, as well as in February, in which the price rose a total of $18,615 in a single month. Additionally, the analyst pointed out that despite the slowdown in Bitcoin Spot ETFs that were seen toward the end of February, it hasn’t affected BTC’s bullishness by much.
The crypto analyst explains that institutional buying is not just happening in the United States either. There has also been a large uptick in buying volume across other countries, including the likes of Korea where volumes have reached near $8 billion for five consecutive days. Interestingly, the buying is not just limited to Bitcoin either as there are also inflows into altcoins and meme coins.
Furthermore, the anticipation of Hong Kong launching its own Spot Bitcoin ETF, as well as BlackRock taking the plunge and launching a Bitcoin ETF in Brazil, also proves that there is a lot of demand. So despite the decreased inflows that were seen last week, Thielen explains that if Grayscale’s outflows keep dropping, reaching between $0-$100 million, then he expects further rally for the Bitcoin price.
Thielen also pointed out that the Untied States debt is growing exponentially and Bitcoin now offers better macro upside compared to gold. This plays into the bullish potential of BTC going forth.
“ Previously we have shown that 30-40% of the Bitcoin ETF inflows appear to come out of Gold ETFs and with $80bn of assets-under-management, those re-allocation flows can continue. We have also shown numerous times that Bitcoin has become a better macro asset than Gold as Bitcoin’s reaction function towards changes in interest rate expectations, announcement of wars/conflicts, etc., has become superior (we backtested this).”
BTC Price Headed For New All-Time High
Among the factors driving the Bitcoin price identified by the analyst was a significant decrease in the amount of over-the-counter (OTC) BTC available for large institutions. Spot Bitcoin issuers such as BlackRock tend to utilize these OTC desks for purchases in order to reduce the impact of their buying on the price. However, these OTC sellers have reported that their balances have dropped 80% in the last year from around 10,000 BTC to less than 2,000 BTC.
Thielen also points out that the same trend is seen in exchanges where balances have declined across trading platforms such as Binance and Coinbase. Both of these, which are currently the Bitcoin trading powerhouses of the world, saw a total of 48,000 BTC leave their balances in a month.
Given these developments, the crypto analyst explains that investors are not price-sensitive at this time. So, the expectation for this week is that Bitcoin makes a new all-time high. If this happens, then the market could see BTC tap $70,000 this week.

Oliver Michel, founder and CEO of German-based venture capitalist firm Tokentus Investment AG, has given a bullish price prediction for the XRP price. According to him, XRP could hit $10 soon enough.
XRP Price To $10 Is Just The Beginning
Michel mentioned during an interview with Der Aktionär, a leading German finance magazine, that he expects XRP to rise to between $5 and $10 in the first wave of its parabolic move to the upside. Interestingly, he added that XRP would eventually hit three to four figures and didn’t seem worried about XRP’s current price action.
Meanwhile, Michel revealed that he is invested in the XRP tokens as he has them both in his family office and with his company, Tokentus. The same applies to Ripple shares, which he stated he purchased through an SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle).
Michel is no stranger to the XRP ecosystem, considering that his company partnered with Ripple last year in an effort to grow and increase the adoption of the XRP Ledger (XRPL). During the interview, Michel also offered his thoughts on Ripple as a “professional company” and sounded so bullish on what the crypto firm was building with its Payment service.
He used the opportunity to elaborate further on how Ripple was simplifying cross-border transactions with the help of the XRPL and XRP tokens. Ripple is known to settle these transactions through its blockchain, with XRP serving as the utility token, and these XRP tokens are then converted to the fiat currency of the recipient’s choice.
XRP To Become The “World Reserve Bridge Currency”
Michel stated that XRP could become the “world reserve bridge currency” once countries implement their CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currency). Ripple’s XRPL is already being touted as the go-to chain for CBDC settlements. The crypto firm had also revealed that they were already actively working with more than 20 Central banks on CBDC initiatives.
The Tokentus founder also believes it won’t be long before other Central banks fall back on Ripple to help them implement their CBDCs. He noted that the pressure was piling up on these banks to act now to avoid an impending economic collapse. XRP is expected to play an integral role when this all happens.
Ripple’s XRPL also looks set to act as the intermediary between all these CBDCs when the time comes. Bitcoinist once reported how the network’s clawback feature boosts the prospects of CBDCs being implemented on it.
At the time of writing, XRP is trading at around $0.58, down over 1% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
